I’ve spent more time configuring my website/blog than I’ve spent posting on it. I switched to Hugo back in 2019 and have changed themes 3 times since then. After every migration, I was certain I’d start writing now.
The nerd in me wanted a complex setup for the blog - markdown files inside a git repo, Netlify running Hugo to build the static site and then finally hosting it on my domain. Every time I revisited the repo, I’d end up updating Hugo or simplifying the configuration but never writing.
Moving to Mataroa is my attempt at escaping this circle. There were two options for what I wanted - Mataroa or Bear Blog. Although they are both quite similar in some aspects, I decided to go with mataroa for two main reasons - it’s Pratul approved and there’s limited configurability compared to Bear Blog.
With all this out of the way, I can see why minimalism is useful. This is my second post on the blog within a week and I already have a few drafts for the next month.
